"Power" is a 36 x 36" handwoven tapestry made of cotton, wool, and tinsel fibers. The icon in the middle originated with the group "Disabled in Action" during their advocacy work in the 70s and 80s. The bright palette and rich texture is meant to convey what the history of the disability justice movement has always meant to me: a reason for creative hope, bright joy, and unshakable pride.
